Role description:
The Credit Control Manager plays a pivotal role in supervising the day-to-day operations and activities of the team. This role involves providing clear instructions, offering constructive feedback, and evaluating the performance of GSSC team members. By providing more hands-on involvement, the Credit Control Manager ensures efficient and effective execution of tasks, promotes a positive working environment, and drives the team towards achieving their goals and objectives.
Role accountabilities:
Process Delivery
• Delivery of operational activities and processes to meet deadlines and requirements
• Conduct review and analysis of dunning and debt collection activities with assigned clients to ensure timely payments and reduce overdue receivables.
• Review financial documents including daily cash receipts forecasts, demand letters, statements of account and key registers such as bad debtor lists, invoicing requirement sheets, and receipt records
• Review the creditworthiness of clients by assessing their financial and legal status.
• Conduct a review of various cash transactions, including processing refunds and adjustments.
• Maintain team adherence to internal control guidelines
• Monitor service levels and targets, ensuring these are met and services are delivered in accordance to defined Service Level Agreements (SLA) and KPIs
• Identify, document and communicate issues or any potential operational risks in the day-to-day operations and propose solutions.
• Recommends areas for standardization and process improvement.
• Review and edit process documentations for clarity, completeness, and compliance with established guidelines
• Ensure business continuity plan is in place for all critical tasks
People
• Direct involvement in monitoring and guiding the work or output of the team
• Provide hands-on control by providing instructions, feedback, evaluating performance and recommends training for staff learning and development
• Ensure that the team meets specific goals and adheres to certain standards and company-wide policies
• Address team conflicts and issues, promoting a positive work environment, mediating conflicts, and finding fair and beneficial resolution
• Succession planning within the team
Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor's/College Degree in Accountancy or any related field in Finance;
• At least 6 years of related experience required, preferably in a professional services environment.
• Knowledgeable in Credit Management and scores tools such as Dun & Bradstreet;
• Strong analytic skills and experience working with Oracle as Arcadis' Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, preferred.
• Fundamental knowledge in project management, with experience in spearheading small projects and implementing process improvements.
• Proven ability to build relationships and maintain effective communication with stakeholders and team members.
• Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize work, delegate tasks effectively, and ensure timely completion of projects.
• Can work on flexible hours to meet changing work environment and to meet tight deadlines.
