Transcreation and Technical Translation Specialist (Dutch speaker, Contractor, 1 year fixed term)

As a Transcreation and Technical Translation Specialist, you'll be an integral part of the Translation, Transcreation & Copywriting (TTC) Team, within Eaton's Global Content Operations Center of Excellence.

You will collaborate with internal teams-including Segment Marketing, Web, Divisions, and local markets-to deliver high-quality translations of marketing content and technical product data for the Eaton.com website and related documentation.

In this role, you'll combine creative transcreation with technical accuracy to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with Eaton's brand standards. You'll also be responsible for managing and maintaining the Eaton terminology base in your assigned language.

Job responsibilities:
• Provide highest quality translation, transcreation, subtitling and copywriting support to Eaton's colleagues in one of the core languages - EN, CZ, DE, ES, IT, FR, NL, PL, RO, SV. Transcreation will be delivered from EN (United States) as source language. Transcreation and copywriting work will include (but not exclusively) writing of brochures, emails, website copy, audio and video copy, technical product data
• Be a point of reference for internal stakeholders supporting them in the use of the translation platform Globallink
• Delivery of transcreation and copywriting projects following internal workflow processes and using business platforms that exceed internal stakeholder expectations
• Working directly with internal stakeholders to deliver transcreation and copywriting projects. Implement changes made by content reviewers taking care of coherence and style
• Develop, improve and maintain the Eaton's terminology resources in the language of competence
• Maintain and improve the existing translation memories, create new translation memories for technical attributes.
• Ensure the implementation of SEO keywords in marketing material
• Collaborate with the translation marketing team leader, project managers and central teams to organize the workload and the translation requests of the internal clients
• Act as brand guardian being responsible for maintenance and improvement of Eaton's style guide in the target language in collaboration with local country teams and central marketing functions
• Execute random Data Quality spot checks for published web sites to search pro-actively for improvement areas

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree (BSc or BA); a technical degree is a strong plus
• 1-2 years of professional experience in translation, transcreation, or a closely related field
• Solid understanding of localization standards, cultural nuances, and brand tone

Skills:

• Language Proficiency
  
  • Minimum C1 level in English
  • Local/Native Dutch language skills at minimum C1 level
  • Additional language capabilities aligned with the team's scope
• Technical Knowledge
  
  • Strong understanding of electrical products and applications to ensure accurate translation of technical content
  • Ability to bridge technical language with marketing tone for multilingual audiences
• Translation Tools & Expertise
  
  • Experience using CAT tools such as Globallink or Wordfast (other platforms also considered)
  • Familiarity with terminology management systems
  • Solid grasp of translation theory and best practices
