Job Description:

We are excited to be on the hunt for a talented and motivated individual to join our team as a Dutch-speaking News Editor.

In this role, you will oversee the editorial process, shape gambling news, and ensure we deliver timely, accurate, and engaging content across the iGaming vertical.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Managing Editor in overseeing the full editorial process, with a focus on curating the gambling and sports betting sections
• Shape and drive the news strategy. Oversee the news strategy, ensuring this aligns with industry trends, audience needs, and company and commercial goals; handle routine editorial tasks; plan, brief, write, check, and publish news content
• Team Leadership Manager, mentor, and develop a team of writers, editors, and freelancers, fostering editorial growth and maintaining a consistent voice and quality.
• Coordinate cross-functionally with SEO, design, and social teams to maximize content reach and performance
• Identify and introduce new content formats, tools, and workflows to improve newsroom efficiency and reader engagement, drive traffic, and increase exposure
• Leverage analytics and results to refine editorial decisions and optimize coverage based on traffic, engagement, and conversion data
• Establish and maintain key industry relationships
• Stay ahead of iGaming and sports betting trends, regulatory shifts, and market developments to keep the publication at the forefront of the industry

Qualifications:

• 2 years of experience in commercial writing/ journalism, specifically in gambling, iGaming, or sports betting journalism
• Must be able to work mornings in the European Time zone
• Proven experience commissioning and editing content within esports, gaming, or adjacent digital media
• Solid grasp of SEO best practices and how they apply to long-form editorial content
• Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple writers, deadlines, and content pipelines
• Solid understanding of the iGaming and casino industry, including key players, market trends, and regulatory landscapes, and/ or the sports betting niche, including major titles, teams, tournaments, and monetization models
• Proficiency with CMS platforms and editorial tools; comfort working in a fast-paced digital newsroom environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with esports betting or the intersection of gambling and competitive gaming.
• A network of freelance writers or subject matter experts in gaming or esports.
• Confidence in using analytics tools (e.g., GA4, GSC) to inform editorial decisions
